Does SourceDB+ Still Work with iNoise?

Does SourceDB+ Still Work with iNoise?

Yes, SourceDB+ is still supported with iNoise.

SourceDB+ requires full read and write access to the license file. When iNoise is installed in the default Windows program folder:

C:\Program Files\

Windows may restrict the required access. As a result, SourceDB+ may not work correctly from this location.

Solution 1: Copy the Complete iNoise Program Folder

Copy the complete iNoise program folder to a location where you have full read and write access, for example:

D:\DGMR\iNoise\

After copying the folder, start iNoise and SourceDB+ from the new location.

Solution 2: Copy Only the SourceDB+ Files

Alternatively, you can copy only the files required by SourceDB+ to a location where you have full read and write access.

Copy the following files:

  • DGMR.lic
  • DGMR.licx
  • EmptySourceDB.mdb
  • SourceDB.chm
  • SourceDB.exe
  • SourceDB.ini
  • SourceDB Manual.pdf

The screenshot below shows the required files:

After copying the files, start SourceDB+ by running “SourceDB.exe” from that folder.

SourceDB+ should now be able to access the license file with the required read and write permissions.

Recommendation

For reliable operation, run SourceDB+ from a folder where the user has full read and write access. Avoid running SourceDB+ directly from a protected Windows folder such as C:\Program Files.
